Firstly. Chip Steeler is a 40 something Portland Oregonian and the artist behind Shipwreck Glass Art. Secondly, he was drawn into the glass art industry in 2009 by his brother. He creates beautiful borosilicate glass art collaborations with artists around the country.
Steeler has exposure to both mediums, but he has developed a preference to electroforming, which is a chemical process that oxidizes metals like coper turning it green. Steeler saw the potential electroforming had as a valuable design element when combined with functional borosilicate glass art.
